Ask HN: Those who moved careers from the West to China, what's your experience?

There's often talk in the news about China wanting to poach Silicon Valley talent to build up their own tech scene. There's also talk of founders who moved to Shenzhen to be closer to hardware development for rapid prototyping. However, I've struggled to find individual examples of experiences. Has anyone done this, or know someone who has and blogs/tweets about it? I'm curious how this looks in reality.
